The Other Side of Blackpool is a community-driven initiative and podcast that celebrates the lives of Blackpool residents.  Inspired by the Poverty Truth Network, we have regular days out and lunches and talk about things like transport, disability and loneliness.  We are always pressing for action for residents.

Since 2021 we’ve developed our work in:

• Advocacy: Our podcast covers the impact of local, regional, and national policies.  Residents bring their own issues and solutions.  We set up the town’s first Disability Forum.
• Service provision and know-how: We try out local groups and special offers, connecting residents with support.
• Storytelling and media: We share stories of living in Blackpool, always pressing to be included in creating solutions.

We want to create a more supportive community by amplifying the voices of local people.
